All Animals Are Equal, But Some Are More Equal Than Others

Before the Wall fell, in communist Poland there was a resistance movement. Part of the resistance was a secret library. The most secret and precious book of the library was hidden in a separate location, wrapped in purple velvet and sealed in plastic. The Resistence felt that if the library was discovered it was most important that this book above all others be preserved since it expressed most clearly the falsity and monstrousness of the ruling ideology.

To see this book I was taken by a circuitous route to the hiding place. There I was met by the librarian and one other member of the Resistance in addition to my guide. With my eyes closed I was seated and then waited while the book was taken from its hiding place. Then they let me open my eyes so that I could see it.

The librarian handled the book with reverence. Everyone was silent. The plastic seal was undone, the puple velvet unfolded and the book was revealed. It was George Orwell's Animal farm. It was an edition of one with original hand-painted illustrations by a Polish artist plus samizdat printed pages of text.

I opened it and turned the pages looking at the beautiful illustrations. At one page I read aloud, but quietly, the caption of one of the illustrations: "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others." They nodded, they understood of course. They lived it every day.

With Sen. Ben Nelson's vote (the 60th vote meaning socialized health care), we have now turned the corner and begun to value government services more than our freedom. The new healthcare bureaucracy and its rules will create thousands of new government employees, each of them a little fat cat, "Herbert's" in Star Trek lore, all, along with their friends, more equal than others.

Read Animal Farm online, read about Animal Farm at Wikipedia, or check it out at your local library.

Putting Pressure on the Republicans

There is a way for the senate Republicans to defeat the health care bill. Currently, Republican senators are making arguments when they should be creating roadblocks.

1. Popular support for the bill is diminishing week by week.

2. Delay is our friend.

3. Senate rules greatly empower individual senators allowing them all sorts of parliamentary methods to delay the progress of a bill working through the legislative process.

4. We must make clear to all Republican senators the following two things:

A. that they must use these means and any others available to stop the bill, i.e. use every delaying tactic available. Erick Erikson explains.
B. if they don't find a way to stop this game-changing bill they will have failed us and we would find someone else to vote for, particularly in the next primary.

Email or call your senator to tell them what you now require of them in this situation.

Climategate's strategic importance

The significance of climategate has been underestimated.
1. The "progressive" movement worldwide, including political parties, is inextricably linked to the theory of man-made global warming.
2. So too the Democratic party specifically.
3. And the mainstream media, MSM, has been pushing the theory hard for over a decade.

When man-made global warming is finally recognized by the public to be false the credibility of all of these groups/parties/institutions will be severely undermined. Even NASA's and NOAA's credibility are in jeopardy.
The stakes in the battle over Climategate and man-made global warming are tectonic.

What is the Cloward-Piven strategy?

ACORN was created to implement the Cloward-Piven strategy. Barack Obama was a trainer of the trainers for ACORN. He also was a lawyer for ACORN. President Obama is now implementing the Cloward-Piven strategy from the Oval Office. The Democratic party congressional leadership is helping him.

So what is the Cloward-Piven strategy? It is a simple strategy. In one sentence, it is creating an overwhelming demand for government services leading to a collapse of the government and chaos so that a new socialist utopia can then be formed.

The original formulation of the strategy focused on welfare. This basic concept has long since been expanded to include all demands for government expenditures, for example, interest on the national debt.

The 2009 stimulus, Cap and Trade, ObamaCare and all the rest look different when seen in this light.

It is a modern incarnation of an ancient strategy: force your opponent to expend his resources until he collapses from exhaustion, then move in for the kill. Humans have been using this strategy since their beginning, and it is used throughout the animal kingdom. Imagine a pack of jackals running a gazelle to exhaustion, then moving in for their prize. This is the strategy of the Left for the United States. Note that it is not illegal or even unfair. But it is sharply contrary to the intentions of the overwhelming majority of Americans.

As Robert Chandler wrote in the Washington Times:

"The strategy's goal is to bring about the fall of capitalism by overloading and undermining government bureaucracy. Its supporting tactics include flooding government with impossible demands until it slowly cranks to a stop."

And Nancy Coppock in the American Thinker:

"Making an already weak economy even worse is the intent of the Cloward/Piven Strategy."

Discover the Networks tells more about the history of the Cloward-Piven strategy.

Michelle Malkin goes after ACORN like Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.

Jim Simpson in American Thinker gives a blow by blow account of the Cloward-Piven strategy and Barack Obama's role.

And the best music so far of the Tea Party movement.
